Lines and Wrinkles

Anti wrinkle options are offered here at Somers Square Dental, prescription product licensed to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines and crows feet.

How It Works
These products temporarily block the transmission of signals from the nerves which normally tell the muscles to contract. Relaxing these muscles helps to soften dynamic lines of expression as well as helping to prevent further static lines at rest.

Anti Wrinkle injections can also be used off license for example:

• To soften frown and forehead lines
• To soften crows feet lines surrounding the eyes
• To create an eyebrow lift
• To improve a square jaw and teeth clenching

The Procedure
The solution is administered using a very fine needle with minimal discomfort and very little downtime. The results start to be seen around 3 days later however take 10-14 days for full effect. It lasts for 3-6 months and with continual use has improved longer lasting results with further softening of static lines of the face.

Jaw clenching

When excessive clenching and grinding occurs the muscle on the sides of the jaw are “exercising” a lot and in turn increase in size which can cause widening of the lower face as well as headaches, jaw ache and broken teeth. These jaw muscles can be relaxed to stop you being able to place this excess force which relieves pressure and tension in your jaw reducing headaches, jaw-ache and dental issues as well as slimming the jaw.  This is particularly useful for those who clench during the day or feel their nightguard is not helping them. A dental assessment is advised as different options for nightguards are available to help maximise results.

Dermal Fillers

We offer a variety of dermal filler treatments to help soften lines lines and wrinkles as less as lift hollowed areas and improve facial contours.

There are many different types of dermal fillers and many different brands. We only use the highest quality premium fillers from official pharmacies to give our patients the best safe results. We exclusively use the Teoxane and Pluryal dermal fillers which are made of hyaluronic acid.

What happens during the procedure?
For some areas a topical numbing cream or injection may be required first followed by thorough disinfection of the skin. The dermal filler is then injected into the area required using a needle or blunt ended cannula depending on the area and result required. Results can be seen immediately after dermal filler treatments and generally 6-12 months.

Skin Treatments

The basis of all good aesthetic treatments starts with good skin quality. Dr Lal can create a bespoke treatment plan using Obagi and ZO products. These world renowned products by Dr Zein Obagi are a mixture of prescription and non-prescription and can only be given from approved medical clinics after the correct training.

These products are unique as medical grade skincare can induce a cellular change in the skin to improve the skin from deep within; which over the counter products cannot do.

Skin boosters
Skin boosters are an in-clinic skin treatment are also known as “injectable moisturisers” and are not dermal fillers. They are made primarily of hyaluronic acid and are placed superficially within the skin to improve the quality and appearance of the skin. They work to Improve elasticity, firmness, wrinkles, lines and texture and can be used on the face, neck, hands, décolletage and on acne scars. They contain antioxidants to help prevent free radical damage as well as glycerol for hydration and glowing skin.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy for the skin combines hyaluronic acid with a cocktail of vitamins to suit your skin needs. Different products from the pluryal mesotherapy range can be used to help treat:

• Pigmentation
• Acne
• Sun damaged skin
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Skin laxity

Skinboosters and mesotherapy can be delivered through a needle, cannula or a dermaroller. Dermarollers area a form of microneedling treatment and help to stimulate further collagen and regenerate the skin.

Fat Dissolving

The submental area can be stubborn and troublesome to get rid of, also known as the “double chin”.

Fat dissolving injections containing deoxycholic acid work to burst the fat cells and remove them from the body through the lymphatic system.

Average 2-3 sessions required and results are permanent if a healthy weight is maintained as the body cannot regenerate fat cells.

Pluryal face contour has 2% deoxycholic acid as well as 3 anti-inflammatory ingredients for less swelling and downtime. Stubborn pockets on the body can also be targeted with pluryal bodycontour containing 2% deoxycholic acid and 5% phosphatidylcholine to also help to tighten the loose skin.
